Text Data Cleaner is a tool to simplify the process of editing lists and text data. You can remove duplicates, strip punctuation, remove entries with punctuation, remove entries with diacritics, normalize accented characters, remove spaces, and strip HTML tags without doing it manually. It also includes options to filter by word length, change delimiters, and sort your data. Everything is processed locally in your browser, which means your text is never sent to a server and remains completely private. See How to Use Text Data Cleaner if you need help.

How to Use Text Data Cleaner

  1. First, you need to input your data. There are three ways to do that: 1) drag and drop a file containing your data into the box; 2) click the box to choose a file; or 3) paste your list directly into the text area.

  2. Choose processing options to filter and remove unwanted entries from your data. There are a lot of options to clean and refine your data, such option to remove items with punctuation, exclude accented characters entirely if you need a "plain English" list, set a minimum and maximum word length, change the sorting order, or even find and replace specific text across your whole list.

  3. Click "Clean Data" button to start the process. Everything is processed locally in your browser and is NEVER sent anywhere.

  4. Check the cleaned output.

  5. Once it looks right, click "Copy to Clipboard" button or download your results as a .txt or .csv file.

  6. If you want to refine it more, copy the cleaned output and then paste it into the Input Text Area and start a new data cleaning process.

  7. If necessary, you can click "Reset Everything" button to clear all text and return all settings to their original state.
