How to Use the Duplicate Word Finder & Counter

  1. Select your data type in the "I am checking a:" setting. There are two options: "List" and "Paragraph". Choose "List" for structured data like email lists, product IDs, IP addresses, or keywords. In List mode, you can specify if items are separated by commas, new lines, or custom characters. Choose "Paragraph" for natural writing (e.g., essays, articles, or notes). In Paragraph mode, the tool ignores punctuation such as periods, commas, and quotes to ensure accurate word counting.

  2. Determine how the result will be sorted using the "Sort Results By:" setting.

  3. Determine the case sensitivity. By default, the tool is case-insensitive. Check the "Case Sensitive ("Rose" and "rose" are treated as different)" option if you want to treat "Word" and "word" as distinct entries (e.g., "Rose" and "rose" would be counted separately).

  4. Input your data. There are three ways to do that: 1) drag and drop a file containing your data into the box; 2) click the box to choose a file; or 3) paste your data directly into the text area.

  5. Click the "Find Duplicates" button to generate your report.

  6. Use Text Data Cleaner if you want to remove any duplicates from your data.
